You sign in to the Metis Cloud console at `console.trymetis.email`. The sign-in page has two tabs, **Sign in** and **Create account**. To create an account, see [Create an account](/cloud/get-started/create-an-account).

## Sign in with your email

1. On the **Sign in** tab, type your **Email** and **Password**.
2. Click **Sign in**.

If you turned on two-factor authentication, you then enter a code. See [Two-factor authentication](/cloud/account/two-factor-authentication#sign-in-with-a-code).

You land on the page you asked for, or on **Instances**.

If the console cannot sign you in, it shows a message under the form. Check your email and password and try again.

## Sign in with Google or GitHub

Click **Google** or **GitHub** above the form, then sign in with that provider.

- The first time you do this with a new email address, it creates a Metis Cloud account and opens **Instances**.
- If the provider's verified email address matches an account you already have, you sign in to that account.

If the provider sign-in does not work, you return to the sign-in page with "Sign-in with that account did not work. Try again, or use your email and password."

## Reset a forgotten password

1. On the **Sign in** tab, type your **Email**.
2. Click **Forgot password?** next to the **Password** label. If you left **Email** empty, you see "Enter your email first."
3. You see "If that address has an account, a reset link is on its way."
4. Open the email with the subject "Reset your Metis Cloud password" and click **Choose a new password**. The link works once and expires soon.
5. Type a **New password** of at least 10 characters and click **Save password**.
6. You see "Your password is changed." Click **Sign in**.

If you see "This reset link is invalid or has expired. Ask for a new one from the sign-in page.", click **Back to sign in** and start again.

## Set a password

If you signed up with Google or GitHub, your account has no password. **Settings** then shows the **Set a password** card. Add a password to also sign in with your email.

1. Open the account menu (your name at the top right) and click **Settings**.
2. In **Set a password**, type your new password in **Password** and **Confirm password**. Use at least 10 characters.
3. Click **Set password**.

You see "Password set. You can also sign in with your email now." The card is then replaced by the **Password** card.

If the two entries differ, you see "The passwords do not match."

## Change your password

1. Open the account menu and click **Settings**.
2. In the **Password** card, type your **Current password**.
3. Type the **New password** and type it again in **Confirm new password**. Use at least 10 characters.
4. Leave **Sign out of every other device** ticked to sign out your other browsers and devices. Untick it to stay signed in there.
5. Click **Change password**.

You see "Password changed."

If the two new entries differ, you see "The new passwords do not match." If your current password is wrong, the card shows a message under the form.

## Sign out

Open the account menu and click **Sign out**. You return to the sign-in page.
