title: Mobile app
description: Sign in to your Metis Suite server from the iOS or Android app, and what works on a phone.
---

The Metis Suite mobile app opens your Metis Suite server on an iPhone or an Android phone. It shows the same Metis Suite you use in the browser, sized for your screen.

Metis Suite is not in the App Store or Google Play. Get the app from the person who runs your Metis Suite server.

1. **Enter your server address**

The app shows "Connect to your Metis Suite server". Type the
address you use in the browser into **Server address**, for example
`https://mail.example.com`, and tap **Continue**. The address must start
    with `https://`.

2. **Sign in with your browser**

Tap **Sign in with browser**. Your phone's browser opens. Sign in as you
normally do, with your password and your two-factor code. The app says
"This screen updates on its own" while it waits.

3. **Confirm and go back**

The browser shows **Sign in to the Metis app**. Tap **Continue as** your
email address, or **Use a different account**. Then the browser shows
**Back to the app**. If the app does not open on its own, tap **Open
    Metis**.

Start signing in with the app already open, and keep it open until you are back.

The app has its own sign-in, separate from your phone's browser. Signing out in one does not sign you out of the other. If the browser says **Set up two-factor first**, set up two-factor authentication on your account, then start again from the app.

## What works on a phone

- **All of Metis Suite:** mail, calendar, drive, the assistant and workflows.
- **Offline:** a thin banner shows when you are offline. If your network works but the server does not answer, the app shows **Can't reach the server** with **Try again**.
- **Back button (Android):** goes back through the pages you visited.
- **Downloads:** on iPhone, the file opens in the share sheet, so you can save or send it. On Android, the file is saved to **Downloads**, with a notification. Google Drive files open in your browser.
- **Printing** and viewing a message's original source do not open on mobile.

## App settings

Open your user menu (your initials) and tap **App settings**. The setup, sign-in and offline screens also have a link to the settings.

| Section | Settings |
| --- | --- |
| **General** | **Open where you left off**. On Android, **Text size**, from 50% to 300% (default 100%), with buttons to make text smaller or larger. |
| **Server** | **Change server…** connects to a different server. **Sign out** signs this app out. |
| **Advanced** | **Clear cache**. **Reset the app** signs you out, forgets the server and restores the default settings, after you confirm "Reset Metis Suite?". |
| **About** | The app's version, build, Expo SDK and platform. **Log file** has a **Share** button, to send the log with a bug report. |

The mobile app has no tray, start-up, hardware acceleration, zoom, spelling or download folder settings. Those are in the [desktop app](/guide/apps/desktop-app) only.
