title: Personal and shared settings
description: Which settings are yours alone, which belong to one resource in one workspace, and which apply to everyone in a workspace.
---

Some settings change only what you see. Others change the workspace for everyone. This page lists which is which.

## Yours alone

Only you see these. Other members are not affected.

| Setting | Where you change it |
| --- | --- |
| Light or dark mode | **Dark mode** or **Light mode** in the account menu |
| The order of your workspaces in the left rail | Drag the workspace tiles |
| Your default workspace | **Settings**, then **Workspaces**, then **Make default** |
| **Load remote images automatically**, **Clean tracking from links** and **Senders whose images always load** | **Settings**, then **Privacy** |
| Muted conversations and **Read later** in each mailbox | In mail |
| Pinned drive folders | In drive |
| Which calendars you hide in the calendar sidebar | The checkboxes in the calendar sidebar. They apply in this browser only. |
| Your MCP clients | **Settings**, then **MCP clients**, when your instance has AI set up |

## Per resource, in each workspace

The person who connected the mailbox, calendar or drive sets these, separately in each workspace.

| Setting | Where you change it |
| --- | --- |
| Whether AI can read the resource | The robot icon on the resource's row on the workspace's **Mailboxes**, **Calendars** or **Drives** page |
| Whether phishing detection scans a mailbox | The shield icon (its label reads "Phishing detection is on for this mailbox here" or "off") on the workspace's **Mailboxes** page |

See [Add, share and remove resources](/guide/workspaces/add-resources).

## Shared with the whole workspace

These apply to everyone in the workspace.

| Setting | Who can change it |
| --- | --- |
| The workspace's color and logo | Owners and admins |
| The AI and phishing detection rules for the workspace | Owners and admins |
| Whether each resource is **Shared** or **Private** | Owners and admins |
| Which calendars of an account the workspace shows | Owners, admins, and the person who connected the account |
| Which drive folders the workspace shows | Owners, admins, and the person who connected the drive |
| Members, roles and invites | Owners and admins invite and remove members. Only the owner changes roles. |
