title: Self-Hosting Guide
description: Install Metis Suite on your own server, configure it, and keep it running and up to date.
---

Metis Suite is open source, and you can run your own instance of it. This guide is for the person who runs that instance: the operator. It covers the server, the settings, and the owner dashboard. If you only want to use Metis Suite, see the [User Guide](/guide/get-started) instead.

An instance is one deployment of Metis Suite with its own database, its own accounts and its own settings. The people who use it connect their own mailboxes, calendars and drives to it. As the operator, you decide which providers and servers they can connect to, which AI model it uses, and how it sends its own email.

**[Install](/self-hosting/install)**

Check the requirements, deploy the stack, create the first account and
serve it on your domain.

**[Configure](/self-hosting/configure)**

Add sign-in providers and servers, choose an AI model, set up outgoing
email, background work and sign-up.

**[Operate](/self-hosting/operate)**

Use the owner dashboard, update and roll back, monitor health and fix
warnings.

**[Mail gateways](/self-hosting/mail-gateways)**

Host mailboxes on your own domain with a Cloudflare Email or Resend
gateway.

**[Reference](/self-hosting/reference)**

Every environment variable, dashboard setting, port and endpoint.
